Winter Chess Classes Coming Up!

With several big chess tournaments coming up this winter and spring, now is the time to sharpen your skills and take your game to the next level. Classes are offered for three different skill/experience levels. Space is limited and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, so if you are interested register soon! Winter Quick Chess Quads Continue in Minnetonka

Quick Chess Quads continue this winter in Minnetonka, on the first and third
Thursdays of the Month. $15 covers both dates. Medals awarded to top finishers in each
group every month. No memberships required. Not rated.

Thursday Evenings: 6:30 – 8:30 pm. Each day starts with 30 minutes of informal "warm
up" play, followed by 3 rounds of quick chess (g15) each evening. Bring your chess
set and your chess clock (if you have one.) If you don't have a chess clock you can still
participate.

When: Monday, December 28 and Tuesday, December 29!
Times: 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. both days
Who: Any chess player, grades K-12

 

Cost:

-$80 covers both days and includes afternoon snack
-$50 covers two half-day sessions (a.m. or p.m.)

Youth Action Championship a Success!!

Make room for some hardware... the Chess Club of Minnesota returns from Chicago sportin' some outstanding results and large trophies! The K-3 team took 2nd place, as did the K-9 team. K-12 took 3rd place and K-6 also took 3rd. Terriffic!! In the side events, our K-12 team took first in Blitz, and the K-6 blitz team took second!!

 

Top individual honors to Zach Adams (3rd K-12), Kevin Bu (6th K-9), Daniel Lekah (11th K-6) and Andrew Titus (4th K-3).
