Ed Zelkind's Summer Chess Camps

The best young chess players in our state, National Masters Sean Nagle, John Bartholomew, Victor Feldberg and many others, have attended Ed Zelkind summer chess camps and group chess lessons for many years. Whether you want to achieve this level of excellence, or just become the best chess player you can be, you’ll want to attend an Ed Zelkind summer chess camp.

Each week will have a choice of a full day intensive study from 8:30 till 5:00 or a half day camp: morning session from 8:30 - 12:30 or afternoon session from 1:00 - 5:00.

A full day intensive study chess program is designed for older more experienced chess players 10 years and older, but younger players may be allowed to participate as well.

The program will include: 
1. Three instruction periods, up to 1-hour each every day
2. Three rounds Rated Swiss System tournament with time control 60min./game
3. 30 min. free time every day
4. Physical activities: gym in the morning and swimming in the afternoon every day
5. Simultaneous games against a Chess Master.
6. Speed tournament
7. Double Bughouse tournament
8. There will be other strategic and logical games available

A half day regular program is designed for younger or less experienced chess player who prefers the recreational, less competitive side of the game. The day will include :

1. Two instruction periods 30 up to 40 min. each every day.
2. Three rounds non-rated chess tournament without chess clock
3. Students will learn to notate the games
4. 30 min. free time every day
5. Physical activities : gym (morning),  swimming (afternoon) every day
6 Double Bughouse
7. Other strategic and logical games

The winners of the tournament will receive trophies, everyone will get a chess camp T-shirt .

July 21 - July 25

August 4 - August 8

Standard Camp Day:
8:30 am to 5:00 pm (full day)

Half Day:
8:30 to 12:30
or
1:00 to 5:00

First 25 registrations before May 1 will get 10 % rebate or bring a friend and both receive 10 % discount.
