The Chess Club

Make room for some hardware... the Chess Club of Minnesota returns from Chicago sportin' some outstanding results and large trophies! The K-3 team took 2nd place, as did the K-9 team. K-12 took 3rd place and K-6 also took 3rd. Terriffic!! In the side events, our K-12 team took first in Blitz, and the K-6 blitz team took second!!

Top individual honors to Zach Adams (3rd K-12), Kevin Bu (6th K-9), Daniel Lekah (11th K-6) and Andrew Titus (4th K-3).

20 players participed in this quick chess round robin tournament. Time control was G15 for all players. Unrated chess. This event was free, October's event is $15 for two days (6 rounds) of chess.

Michael Yang tied with Sean Neagle for first place at the Region 6 championship in Chaska. Sean won the blitz tie-breaker to take the first place trophy. Congrats to Michael for an outstanding performance. Andrew Tang took 7th place, Kevin Bu took 8th.

Leighton Zhao took first in the reserve section with a perfect 4/4 score. Leo Segal took 12th, Andrew Titus 19th, Trevor Seets 24th, and Atharva Limaye 30th.
