September Quick Chess Quads are Free!

The Minnetonka Quick Chess Quads are free for September only! Save $15 for September only! You must register by sending an email to Pat@mnchess.com.

Two Thursday nights each month from 6:30 to 8:30 pm. Each night includes a warm-up period for blitz, bughouse, etc., followed by three games of G15 chess in quad format!

Quads (groups of four) based on rating/skill/age/experience level
Medal awarded to top player in each quad (except September's tournament)!
Chess puzzles for interested players – no additional cost

Note: Registration for Chess Club events!

Most Chess Club events that are listed on this website have registration buttons as part of the description. However, if you are not logged into the website, you will not have access to these registation buttons.

In any case, if you need to register and cannot access the registration area for any reason, just send an email to: pat@mnchess.com and let us know what event you want to register for and we will email you a registration form.

Also - please note that for fee-based events requiring pre-registration, your registration is not official until we receive your payment.

Michael Yang Takes 2nd at the Denker!

Michael tied for 2nd at the Denker Tournament of High School Champions, finishing with a score of 4.5/5.

Andrew Tang Takes Top Spot in RR#10

Thirty kids participated in the most recent round robin tournament in Plymouth. Andrew Tang took the top spot in the #1 group. Results/ top finishers are listed on page 2:

Michael and Kevin took center stage at some big national events recently. Kevin Bu tied for first at the U.S. Junior Open, while Michael finished 4th in the Cadet championship. Congratulations to both!!

Stay Sharp Tournament Underway!

The Stay Sharp Summer Chess Tournament is now complete! Atharva L won the Gold section overall, while Lance won the Silver overall.In the second half competition, Atharva won the Gold while William won the Silver. Austin L won the first half Silver section and Atharva won the Gold there as well. Congratulations to all who competed.

Club members Andrew Tang and Brett Kleist are the 2009 State Primary and Elementary chess champions! Andrew and Brett won their respective sections of the SCA "Tournament of Champions" this weekend in Burnsville. Results can be found at www.schoolchess.org.
